Computational fluid dynamics software11/19/2023 ![]() This should allow you to get a flavor for how it works and ensure it's the right software for you before commiting to buying a licence. It contains all of the physical models and capabilities of the full version of the software, but is limited in the mesh resolution. RhinoCFD Lite is a downloadable free trial version of RhinoCFD. To this end, the menu is greatly simplified so only the relevant parameters are displayed, decreasing complexity and setup time. Additionally, waves can also be specified as inflow conditions, allowing the user to see how these interact with their ship. RhinoCFD Marine allows users to very quickly set up a free surface flow past their hull and extract information such as velocities, pressures and turbulence intensities on it. Special purpose variant for the naval industry: Marine ![]() Mean-age-of-Air and Air-Changes-per-Hour calculations. ![]() Fire growth curves and smoke movement, density and visibility.Comfort indices, draught ratings, dry and wet bulb calculations, humidity levels.Pollutant hazards models for both internal and external flows.RhinoCFD can include a variant called FLAIR which is aimed particularly at architects and other built-environment engineers. Special purpose variant for the built environment: FLAIR Post-processing inbuilt in Rhino including iso-surfaces, surface contours and streamlines.Relational Data input without re-compiling.Numerous turbulence model options including RANS and LES.PHOENICS structured sequential CFD solver.PARSOL cut-cell geometry detection simplifying the mesh generation process.Cartesian and Cylindrical Polar co-ordinate meshes.RhinoCFD’s breadth of scope allows you to simulate complex phenomena such as multiple-phase and compressible flow, heat transfer both inside solids and between solids and fluids, radiation modelling and non-Newtonian flows. It also makes a complex subject matter accessible to many new users, reducing the learning curve necessary to perform the investigations. With RhinoCFD, Computational Fluid Dynamics is now available for Rhino3d users without having to leave the Rhino environment. Transportation: Drag reduction, combustion processes, emissions testing.Medical: Arterial flow, respiratory flow, effects of non-Newtonian fluids.Aerospace: Aerodynamics, turbomachinery, heat management.Jewellery: Investment casting optimization.Architecture and building services: External/internal ventilation, HVAC, contaminant dispersion.Marine: design of hulls, sails, propellers.Have a look at the full list (and what it all means) here!įor older versions please contact can be used in any area where fluids may have an impact on a design and therefore its applications are numerous and is already used in a wide variety of industries including: A new comfort index is available: Universal Thermal Climate Index. The Dutch and Belgian Fire standards are now selectable.Wind conditions can now by specified via Weibull coefficients.A new aerosol deposition model is available. We also have some improvements that are specific to FLAIR, our built environment module: Auto calculation of time step in transients.New Post processing panel to simplify creating plots and produce higher quality results processing. ![]() Here's a snapshot of a couple of the more exciting upgrades: It allows users to investigate the interaction of their model with the surrounding fluid, thus enabling rapid optimization and testing without leaving the familiarity of the Rhino environment. Local mesh refinement controls can resolve geometry details appropriately, and poor CAD models can be improved in SpaceClaim/Discovery, or you can use Fluent's Fault Tolerant meshing workflow, which is robust to CAD faults.CHAM presents RhinoCFD, a general purpose Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software plugin, built directly into the Rhino environment and powered by CHAM's PHOENICS. Poor mesh quality can also be caused by insufficient mesh resolution of geometry details or by poor underlying CAD. When selected, you will then enter the percentage of the total cells to be improved, and the number of iterations of smoothing sweeps performed. If you are in Fluent Solution mode, you can improve the mesh quality by selecting the improve the mesh option on the Quality button under the Domain tab. To improve the surface mesh, you will have to enter a face quality limit to target, and when improving the volume mesh, you will have to enter a cell quality limit value to target. If you are still in the process of generating your mesh in Fluent Meshing mode, you can insert a task after both the 'Generate the Surface Mesh' task and 'Generate the Volume Mesh' task by right-clicking on either one and inserting a new 'Improve Mesh' task. Mesh quality can be improved in a variety of places in Ansys Fluent.
